Drilling depth grows with size: the HW400 reaches 480 m, the HW1500 gets to 1600 m. Weight rises from 1800 kg to 3000 kg across the range. Core sizes are HTW, NTW and BTW, with drilling angles between 0 and 90 degrees.

The mast is built into the rig and rests on the ground. A turbocharged engine drives it, either as a diesel or as an electric unit. Rated hydraulic flow runs from 96 to 260 L/min.
